Capitol Reef National Park

April 12, 2017

We drove from Monument Valley to Capitol Reef yesterday. On the way we stopped at Natural Bridges National Monument. It was a really nice area and we even got to hike under a bridge.

From there we drove to Capitol Reef National Park. It didn’t look like much from the road but once you get into the park it is very impressive. There’s a little store that sells pies but it was closed. They also have fruit groves and the campground was really nice too. We drove  up to a hike and were a little nervous about the unpaved road but Goldie did fine. The hike wandered through a deep canyon. We passed ancient petroglyphs and carvings from the 1800’s. Then we climbed up to see some pools and the Capitol Dome. We enjoyed our time at Capitol Reef but we just might have to come back to this one.
